Emos
(a.k.a. The Librarian, The Old Man, The Chronicler)
He is pictured as an elderly scholar who is constantly chronicling the passage of time in one of his many tomes. He hoards his books like a miser holds coin, each book a precious piece in his collection. His wife is Ether, goddess of Prophecy. Some believe the two to be estranged.
He is often seen as a fair if uncaring god. Those who try to change history or hide artifacts for their own gain are looked on poorly by Emos and his followers. One of the greatest desires of the followers of Emos is to discover the secrets of the Colonization Wars and the time before hand. They are also against the laws currently in place that forbid such knowledge.
His followers tend to search for ancient knowledge to make sure all of the world’s history is documented.
He is in direct opposition to Mahdis, Lord of secrets. There have been times where he has been in opposition to Praemark, and Cyphus, more finding the two annoying.

The Paradox Pendant
Description: A silver amulet with an hourglass-shaped gemstone that swirls with glowing sand, seeming to flow both forward and backward.
Holy Books & Codes
Nothing is holier than a book to Emos followers. It doesnt matter the contents, or even if it contains propoganda against their faith, to the acoyltes of Emos, it must be preserved and cared for. Gently wrapped in cloth or leather, never scented to allow the pages to grow the mold, yet magics to ensure they never age to decay. This kind of treatment is expecte by all followers of Emos, and this typically means many of his follwers will take even greater care of the books about their god.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
The Hourglass
While hourglass are signifcant to many gods, Izmus for example, in regards to Emos they represent passage of time. Many preists of emos keeps one one them, using it as a focus for prayers and rites. The hourglass represents the never ending job of the priests and acolytes of Emos, each grain of sand must be aknowledged and it will always start again.
The Book
The most ubiquitous of Emos' symbols. The great Librarian needs his book as his followers need theirs. Hisory must be written, stories preserved, and achievements logged.
Infinity
Followers of Emos often have several distinct reactions when coming across the Infinity symbol: curiosity, awe, and terror. Used in many rituals of protection and binding, the infinity has been used to lock things away from the world that followers of Emos find dangerous. Yet is is also a symbol of faith for many that Emos does protect against evil.
Tenets of Faith
The Search
The constant duty of the followers of Emos, the Search is a type of pilgrimage that the followers of Emos will take multiple times throughout their life. Each Search is a specific, detailed account of research and study of a specific topic. It is not considered a successful pilgrimage unless the some new information is added to the Keeping.
The Keeping
The Keeping is only preformed by the highest level of members of the followers of Emos. The Keeping is the care and maintance of the books, documents, and artefacts brought in by other acolytes. Each time a new item is brought in, a sacred and long ritual is preformed. Due to this many Keepers are referred to as librarians, which most Keepers see as a compliment.
The Chronical
Chronicaling is one of the most difficult practices of new members of the faith. Many will drop out not wanting the attention, sometimes its dangerous, for others it is boring, but to the elders this is still a sacred and important duty. The acolyte must spend an extend amount of time detailing everything about a person, event, or place. Sometimes this is significant world changing event, sometimes it is a little thing that most would overlook, either way the Lorekeepers welcome it.
Observers
Obervers are believed to be servants of emos, but no sacred texts ever mentions them. It is unknown how many there are, as they all look the same and no one has been able to have an extended encounter with them. All that is known is a basic description, and that they are only ever seen at what ends up being significant historical event. They watch, journal, and leave.
Altering time
The greatest of sins to the followers of Emos. The idea of altering events is an anathem to the religion. Some do not believe it is even possible, while others work hard to make sure any suggestion that it is, is prevented or destroyed. Debate amongst the elders on the flow and the posibility to alter of time, is one the few times the stoic personae across the faith fades to one of fear and rage.
