Brothers Of Streinthrar

This highly secretive religious sect who once belonged to the Temple Of Light. They began as dedicated religious folk who gave their lives to the religion and spreading the Mage Of Life's message. It then evolved into something much darker. It's most common to find members of the King's Court in meetings with the Brotherhood. They also wear signet rings with the marking of a crow on it to show they belong (far right). These rings will have their names inscribed with darkyn runes. However, if you ask them outright, they'll deny any knowledge of such a group.   As it evolved from a simple club for religious people, the Brotherhood has become more influential in politics and the human communities. If the King ever needed a village to get in line or a new military campaign funded through taxes, then the Brotherhood will "help" with that.   As well as ruling the human kingdom behind the King's back, the Brotherhood are known for lighting the flames of fae hunts, especially those for witches. Although witches are fictional creations, based on the legends of the Draga, many women have been killed to "save the greater population". These women will have spoken out against a member of the Brotherhood, or perhaps simply denied their advances.   The Brothers of Streinthrar are a dangerous group of people, but it's nearly impossible to know just who is part of it.   Hunfray Reybon, King Beiric's husband, is rumoured to hold a high level in the organisation. He has, no doubt, replaced the position his father held. Below is the letter Halvik Svandor wrote along with a rough translation from the Darkyn Runes.
As the Mage of Life as my witness, I sign my name in the blood of my line so that I may be closer to She who brightens my path. May She give me strength when I am weak, hope when I am lost, and wealth when I am without. I give my name and my mortal cage so that She may guide me. So that She may use me as a vessel in this world. I give my blood to her so that She may bless my line and my sons and their sons after me.
Signed, Halvik Svandor
