Barnus
In Stand-Off
Until the civil war in 16 AT, the fractured kingdoms of Barnus and Luthral were a single civilization. The civil war dragged on for years, until a treaty was formed in 21 AT, and Upper Luthral seceded from the lower kingdom and declared itself the Kingdom of Barnus. In spite of the non-aggression pact, tensions remained high, and 7 years ago both kingdoms sent troops to their shared border in a stand off. Neither force wanted to be the first to break the old treaty, for fear that it would give the other allies -- but neither wanted to back off and appear weak. As a result, Barnus and Luthral have been in a 7 year stand-still where no one dares make a move forward or back.
