Visia is a highly religious collection of city-states governed by a High Priestess known as The Visiana.
Laws
Visia is made up of eight city-states, each with the right to govern themselves and their own people These city-states are ruled by small, oligarchacal councils made up of three individuals: The leader of the city's military, it's trademaster and an elected representative of the people. This council arranges and carries out the laws of their city-state, and their power can only be overturned by The Visiana herself.
The Visiana (occasionally the Visiano, in the event the chosen successor is male) recieves devine rulings from the god Visian - Visia's true, incorporeal ruler. Laws created by Visia are communicated to the Visiana, and enacted across the Kingdom. Laws from the Visian are unquestionable, and take precident over the individual rulings of city-states. Citizens can also make appeals to the Visian through it's devinely appointed ruler, if they feel a law or ruling from their council is unjust.

Once the joined Kingdom of Alphenia, the Kingdoms of Teskan and Visa split in 226 AT as the result of political and religious disagreements. Despite the tense nature of the topics at hand, the split is regarded as one of Alkask's most peaceful resolutions and the kingdoms have remained neutral ever since.
