Zoltan has been the leader of the Muddybrook Farlander kumpaniya since the death of his mother, two years gone. He is a bright, canny negotiator, a keen observer of human nature and an ambitious and meticulous planner. Like others in his position, he is a walking library of facts and gossip about the many places he has been, and willing to share that information for the right price.
That information does have its limits, however. Zoltan discovered the secretive forays taken by the local burgomaster, Oliphar Bulbanius, and (assuming a mistress might be involved) decided on a scheme to blackmail the poor man. With the aid of Falco Padfoot he arranged to steal the Cloak of Elvenkind Bulbanius used to move about unseen, then offer to sell it back for a handsome profit before moving on.
He never had the chance.
Due to unforeseen events, Bulbanius was put to death on the order of the vilage priest, Borrin. For his role in the theft, Zoltan himself was tortured and mutilated by being blinded and having his tongue cut out. While still technically the leader of the kumpaniya, his role remains unresolved.
