Mesonyx
The prime holy city of Ares, god of war, known for its extreme militarism and brutal culture. These savage practices left them isolated and unable to resist annexation by the Empire when Phaethon took to consolidating the Elven Polises. It's most extreme practices such as inducting soldiers at the age of 6 and yearly massacres of their serfs were curbed by assimilation into the Empire. Though older Mesonians would frequently complain of moral decay and pine for the good old days when they knew every noble man had killed at least one slave personally.
The Gnosis rapidly undid any progress that was made. While the Cannibals of other cities might engage in hobbies or grotesque fascimilies of old social interactions, no such activities occur in Mesonyx. Even before their transformation Mesonyx was a void of culture and technological advancement, only seeing honor in personal combat. Now with inhibitions removed the Mesonians empty from the city each year clad in their red caps, lambda shields, and bronze spears to make "war" on their neighbors. They only return during winter to avoid the cold, and collect replacement equipment manufactured by the city's automata.
Demographics
Mexonyx is nearly devoid of cannibals for the entire nine months of war season each year. The streets only populated by automata and homoculi who run automated production and defense. The only exceptions are those children too young to be initiated into the agoge, who are carred for by automata. As Mesonians are not given their noble titles until induction into the child armies, these children are not yet cannibals and if raised by any other community will grow up to be normal elves.
Government
Curiously Mesonyx possessed two local kings before the Gnosis. This allowed one to remain within the city at all times, even when a king was necessary to command armies in the field. In the modern day this practice has been abandoned, both kings leading their armies encased in magicite studded arms and armor.
