Onitsha
The continent of Onitsha is one of the more isolated lands of Gidoire. Its distance from other lands allowed it to escape the avarice and machinations of greater empires and powers. During the Orphaned War, it escaped most of the horrors until the end of the war where it became one of the final battle grounds.
Most of Onitsha is ruins and wild jungles. The small kingdom of Kaduna and the eugocracy of the Yuan have both begun to make small ventures into taming the continent.
The Past
Most written history has been lost during the Orphaned War, but this is what is believed to be true:
The Times of the Kadun
When the world and the Gods were young, the people of Onitsha were known as the Kadun. They were ten tribes of nomadic people. Each tribe worshipper their own god, and those blessed with holy powers from their gods were often passed down through bloodlines. It was a time of peace. The elves often visited the people of Onitsha, and they helped built them

The Times of the Rune Lords
The Shung clan worshipped Iku, the god of Language and Art, and turned to their god during a time of troubles. Iku taught them the language the Gods used to build the world. While the mortal mind nor body could fully comprehend the language, a few individuals were able to learn a single word known as a rune. With time, this power drove those holding a rune, the Rune Lords, mad from power. They conquered all of Onitsha and enforced their rule over the other tribes of the Kaduna.
It is said that they even turned the Shung into stone-skinned giants.
Over time, they built great works across the land, but most have been lost to time.
The Times of Kaduna
The time of the Rune Lords came to an end when their thirst of power drove wedges between them, and the other tribes were able to united and destroy the Rune Lords.
A new Kingdom that cherished and protected all of the tribes was formed.
The Apostates of Onitsha
Shortly after the Rune Lords and the clan of Iku were defeated, the people of the Yuan turned on their own god and declared their people would never suffer due to the divine ever again. They retreated to their own island off the coast of Onitsha, and they closed their borders from all.
The Times of the Orphaned War
For many years, Onitsha was able to avoid the horrors of the war due to its geographic isolation from the other countries. Refugees fled to Onitshan shores, and young people of Onitsha sailed off to the war to find their glory.
The war came to Onitsha in the form of a fleet of orcs led by Gruumsh and the Blood Moon Witch, Luthic. The elves and other forces soon followed. The people of Kaduna lost more and more lands to the orcs armies until all they retained was a small barony cut off from the rest of Onitsha by the Dimland Mountains.
After the War
The Orphaned War ended with the death of the Gods, but lands of Onitsha swarming with orcs. The barony that held what was left of Kingdom of Kaduna was a small humble land. Comprised of simple farms and hunting grounds for bored nobles, lore and knowledge was lost as the people attempted to build a new life while continuing to hold off the orc hordes.
