Gods of Onitsha

The gods of Onitsha from before the New Divinity were tied closely with tribes and the bloodlines of particular families. The gods were divine beings of duality. They served and supported opposing forces in the lives of the Kadun. A cleric of one of these gods followed one of the two aspects of the god.


Below is a list of the gods and their clan:
Ori the Connector -- Emi Clan (God of mind, spirit, and dreams)
Yemoja the Tider/Storm -- Omi Clan
Ayao the Winder/Still -- Afefe clan
Ogun the Grounder/Welder -- Aiye Clan
Ochumare the Light/Dark -- Imole Clan
Yemawa the Healer/Cancer -- Iwosan Clan
Orunmila the Seer/Unknown -- Aririan Clan
Rudra the Hunter/Tamer-- Eranko clan
Two gods fell out of favor long before the Orphaned War:
Iku the Language/Art -- Shung Clan
Dahome the Creator/Destroyer-- Yuan Clan
