Divine Shackles

One of the few relics of divine unity, the six divine shackles bind Tharizdûn, the Elder One to the bottommost layer in the endless abyss. Each shackle is anchored in the material plane. The Cabal of the Chained Oracle actively seeks out these anchor points and erects temples over their anticipated locations, hoping that the inevitably fading power of the shackles will provide an opportunity for Tharizdun's release.   Crafted by the divine and the forge master Krivothrir the shackled are made of pure platinum and divine fragments from each of the members of the pantheon. The chains were brought before Pelor who chiseled the Seal of the Dawnfather deep into the cooling metal.   Sehanine, The Moon Weaver tricked Tharizdûn, the Elder One into a duel with Kord, the Storm Lord allowing Pelor, the dawnfather to place the first of the six shackles onto the tired and distracted Tharizdun. The Elder God channeled his indignation and rage towards the collective pantheon, lashing out chaos and destruction but was ultimately ensnared by the collective power the Gods, chained, and banished.   In the darkness the chaotic God of madness waits, its hate and malice festering, writhing - calling to any mad enough to listen. He dreams the infinite depths of the Abyss into reality, along with all its demonic legions. As the shackles slowly weaken, he pushes avatars of himself through though the abyssal layers, projecting them on to the material plane.   The last time an avatar of Tharizdun broke throne the planes resulted in the Destruction of the Second Age, Legends and rumors of the KragnûlDulnur, the Herald of Tharizdun appear in many cultural legends but the High Cleric of Pelor have not seen any trace of them since that dreadful battle.   The location of the six anchors are closely guarded secrets protected by clerics of the various divine. Specific details of the ritual forging have been largely lost to time. The few fragments that remain are discretely preserved in Ebon Tide. The documents are restricted. Interested individuals must gain permission from Nieven Arrivaras, steward of the Delmoor Order, and must be accompanied by a Clerics of Pelor.
