Firearm

A firearm is a ranged weapon that launches projectiles at extreme speeds by a chemical reaction. The projectiles launched by a firearm may travel several hundred or even thousand feet depending on the weapon and cartridge in use. Firearms are widespread across Ghala, making them a very common sight. Firearms can even be found in areas where industry is a rarity due to them being sold and exported.   Firearms use a different set of rules than traditional ranged weapons like bows, crossbows and slings. Due to the ease with which they can be used, they are considered simple weapons, meaning most classes can effectively use them. Each firearm has its own hit and damage bonus that you add on top of whatever bonus you would otherwise add to a ranged attack.   Each weapon has a certain number of shots it will hold. Once a clip or magazine is empty, you must reload. Reloading a firearm takes 1 action. There are multiple cartridges and ammo types and you should keep track of what you have in you inventory as some cartridges are incompatible with certain weapons. For example, a .45 pistol cannot shoot the same rounds that a 30-6 rifle can. I don't expect the players to keep a super exact count on the number of bullets you carry, but I do expect you to keep tabs on what type of bullets you have and if it can be used in a certain weapon as well magazine sizes and when to reload.   Firearms are adaptable weapons and can be modified in various ways. For instance, you could use a scope, muzzle break and high grain bullets to maximize accuracy on your favorite rifle.   Each weapon will have a list of how many bullets are fired with each attack. For instance, a bolt action rifle may fire 1 round per attack, whereas a semi automatic will fire 2 rounds per attack.

NATIONAL VARIETY

Each nation that manufactures firearms does so with their own design philosophies. As such, a weapon from that specific nation will have a unique trait due to it's county of origin.   Esoran made weapons are made with landing critical hits in mind, Union guns have an emphasis on raw firepower, and Republican guns tend to be more accurate   For example, here is the differences between the main service rifles of these 3 nations   A Kar81 Condor deals 1d8, and lands a critical hit on an 18 or 19.   A M-101 Manitou deals 1d10, and gives a +3 on hit rolls.   A SF-99 Knox deals 1d12 but has no other inherent bonuses.

Discovery
Although drarves made the first matchlock muskets in 45,200, the Republic Of Adreal were the first ones to make widespread use of them. As wars with the Elven Dominion, Vulpis Union, Clan Garvug, and the Ssthra Tribes became more and more common and costly Adrelli leadership looked for more efficient ways to fight their foes. Their solution was to create flintlock muskets in hopes of tipping the scales.   The introduction of muskets was a game changer. Overnight, millennia of warfare was rendered obsolete as now a line of soldiers could take down groups of hostiles with ease.   As centuries went on, more and more innovations were made in regards to how guns worked. Currently, the presence of firearms has dramatically changed how warfare is waged.
