Hallow Shallows
The island of Halland is among the smaller islands on The Freeisles. It is largely uninhabited since it is formed of jagged rocks and surrounded by dangerous shoals. There is one settlement, the Hallow Shallows, half-hidden in a cove where the crashing ocean waves do not reach.
The name of the village comes from the fact that on the highest point of Halland, surrounded by a crown of jutting pinnacles, is a sacred stone circle known as the Circlet Cairn, dedicated to those who fought and died during the Great War Between Order and Chaos. Among those legendary heroes were Kit the Clever, Langgait, Padr Burroc, Uarmu of the Soothsong, and Yannis Whitbow. A steep staircase leads up to the cairn from Hallow Shallows
There are not many buildings in the village proper, as it is mostly focused on fishing, but it is notable for having residences both above and below the waterline. An elderly triton, Olimar Frothbeard, keeps an inn known as Olimar's Seapool, which likewise has an underwater entrance in addition to the one above water.
There aren't any shops, but many trading vessels come there to sell their wares and stock up, including the one owned by the mermaid Sardini sisters, Attina and Aquata. Because the village is in the territory of the sea tribes, the pirates of Kalo Makhto occasionally use it as a resting place as well.
