The symbol, whether it be family ties, marriage or simply the piece that pulls clothing together the brooch is the most important pieces of Mandorian accessory. Used to propose, to make alliances and show wealth the brooch is the key in many minds to understanding social statues in the vast lands of Mandor. The fashion has lasted for over 9 millennia proving though many trends come and go the brooch is here to stay. The Brooch however has another meaning. The one first worn by Maria
(Maria's Brooch) when she ascended to become the queen has been displayed in all royal iconography since then and it is the symbol of power. Many even speculate that it has hidden secrets and magic spells woven into its very being.

Mechanics & Inner Workings
Brooch have three basic designs, there is the pin design where two metal pieces can are connected by a hinge and a clasp between which clothes are gathered. The second design is one piece with at least two or more shapes in which clothe can be threaded through or caught on then pulled taught. The last design is a spike or screw like piece of metal that is used often with easy catch and release cloths like lace. Other variations on these also can be found but these are most common.
Significance
The brooch can show many things, house, profession, romantic statues, class and even as an enemy can be displayed with the simple fastener. The way one places it in their shawls or how many they where is significant as well.

The decorative or functional brooch is quite common and can be found anywhere in Mandor. The marriage brooch is made between two people or families. A family antique such as the brooch of a powerful person or alliance is rare as many take their brooch with them to the grave. The Brooch is the only one like it and more valuable than the entity of quite a few islands.

Raw materials & Components
Brooch can be made of stone, wood, metal and other hard material often they include more than one material. Often wooden brooch are painted, stone brooches are rapped in soft materials, metals are bejeweled. Soft brooches are also common enough in the lower class if one is young and has yet to be able to purchase or make their own.

Depending on the brooches material the tools change however wedding brooches specifically require at least three materials, one from each party and a base material for the bond between them.
