Appointment

There are two ways to become a Duke/Duchess. The first is to inherit it from your parent when they pass away, or are promoted to a higher rank. The Second is to be raised to if from the Emperor/Empress as a reward for service, in which case a ceremony is held at the capital where all the nobles are invited to attend.
