Robbert Windslayer
Robbert Windslayer was his brother Rikkert’s opposite—an extroverted, shrewd diplomat with a silver tongue. He forged alliances with rival houses and foreign courts, always keen to avoid bloodshed through negotiation. Though some saw his reluctance to act with force as a weakness, Robbert’s charm and wit allowed Ivoria to thrive diplomatically. His adversity to fight did not mean he was weak jawed, he was trained in combat and could wield a sword better than most outside of noble brith and training. But diplomacy had no place in the brutal arena of the Moot, where his cousin Hermen killed him in the bloody struggle for the throne. In the final fight, Robbert had tried to reason with the old second cousin, the 91 year old Hermen. This hesitation made the old Hermen laugh, he told Robb to draw his blade and see he should rule, not through reason but through rings of steel. Robbert fell after four swings of the old man’s sword.
