Rezial - Death and Undeath Character in Galfin | World Anvil

Rezial - Death and Undeath

Rezial, the God of Death and Undeath, is a being shrouded in mystery and fear. Its true form is an enigma, as it has been known to take on many different shapes and forms throughout the ages. Some believe that Rezial is a malevolent entity, while others see it as a necessary force of nature.
In ancient texts, Rezial is often depicted as an amorphous ball of human and animal bones distorting in on itself. Its appearance is twisted and unnerving, inspiring dread and terror in those who witness it. When Rezial has made contact with the sentient races of Galfin, it has taken on the form of a skeleton with a boar skull for a head, and animal skins wrapped tightly around its bones. In this form, it is said to emit a cold, lifeless aura that chills the bones of those nearby.
Rezial is not wholly evil. It is the god of the natural process of death and the cycle of life, and as such, it serves an important purpose in the balance of the universe. Some who worship Rezial see it as a necessary force that must be respected and feared, while others believe that it can be appeased through offerings and sacrifice. Either way, Rezial remains a powerful and mysterious entity that inspires both awe and terror in those who seek to understand it.
