Plainsqueen Amauri Skytracer

Plainsqueen Amauri Skytracer

Plainsqueen Amauri Skytracer was born into a turbulent life as the daughter of Livina and Herkus Skytracer, raised in the Dunwich District outside the castle walls. Her mother died young, leaving Amauri to be raised at first by her grandmother Marlee and later by the local clergy while her commoner father, embittered and distant, spent his time drinking and mocking the Church. Yet, it was the very Church of Dhara that would shape Amauri's destiny. Under the guidance of the Conduit who was known for helping the poor and downtrodden, Amauri became a fervent follower of Dhara, the God of Liberation.   As a direct descendant of Beowulf Skytracer, one of the Six Heroes of Man, Amauri inherited both the extended lifespan of her bloodline and the immense responsibilities that came with it. Beowulf had forged an alliance with the Dwarves and built Skygarde, and Amauri took up his mantle by establishing the realm of Erod Mercadia in 255 4E. The name "Erod," meaning "Protected Home" in Old Dwarven, honoured the alliance with the Dwarves, whose craftsmanship laid the physical foundation of Skygarde, ensuring its enduring strength. This bind started with the Mine Dwarves with their wealth but extended to the other Dwarven cultures within the Viscourt.   Amauri’s vision extended beyond her nation. She believed that the world’s suffering and the chaos of the past millennium had been caused by the old gods who allowed the Onyx Elves to enslave the realm. Determined to spread the teachings of the newly established Church of Dhara, she embarked on an aggressive campaign of conquest, beginning with the Empire of Iron on the southern continent of Mizyak. This series of wars, known as the Dharan-Voidal Wars, were fought against the devout followers of the Void. Amauri's military genius and charismatic leadership led her forces to numerous victories, converting entire regions to the faith of Dhara.   Her conquests were not solely for power; they were driven by her belief in Dhara’s message of liberation under his name. Dhara, who had forged magical weapons for the Six Heroes and helped free the continent from the Onyx Elves, was venerated as a god who fought for the people. Amauri spread this fervour, and stories of her victories and divine purpose inspired faith and unity across her lands.   By the time her campaigns ended, Amauri had successfully converted much of the mainland and the southern continent to the Church of Dhara, cementing her legacy as a devout ruler. After returning from war, she bore several children, including her daughter Beonette, who would eventually succeed her. Amauri passed away after a long life of ambition, faith, and conquest, leaving behind a prosperous realm and a faith that would continue to shape the future of Erod Mercadia. Upon her death, her daughter Beonette ascended as the next Plainsqueen, inheriting a kingdom forged through blood, faith, and the indomitable will of her mother.
