Magelord Reinold welcomed an advisor named Voros of Vuul to counsel the royals in the Oakhand court. He knew the ancient Fonari tribes of the mountains and had respect from both lowborn and noble. Reinold and Voros formed the first Council of Lanterns. The concept of Vuul was that of magic powered beings, a designation that Voros believed was gifted to them by the gods with intent to rule. Reinold had great respect for Voros and reverence for the old ways of the Fonari, his own distant ancestors. Reinold’s son Dre’s was taught the histories of their people by Voros of Vuul.
Reinold finished the building of Ilkzinarth, the stronghold of his family and the seat of the kingdom forming in the mountains.
Reinold, the Magelord of the Spyre, was a steadfast and proud ruler. Ascending the throne at the age of 42, his reign was marked by a fierce loyalty to his people and the unyielding desire to maintain the traditions of the Fonari and Spiroak mountain clans. With a broad, weathered face and a commanding presence, Reinold was known for his tactical mind and diplomatic efforts. His final years, however, were spent trying to forge alliances with the mountain tribes who did not descend from the Fonari, a mission that ended in his assassination as he tried to break bread with the Frelheid from the north, an act that would hold vengeance for many generations to come. At the age of 76, he met his brutal end, leaving his kingdom vulnerable and his son, Drest, with a fractured legacy to inherit.
