Jaggedking Osfirth Oakhand
Jaggedking Osfirth Oakhand
A tall, dignified figure with piercing eyes that mirrored dark blue skies of the Spyre, Osfirth Oakhand inherited the throne of Vuulydon after the long reign of his centenarian father, Cynhelm. Osfirth had spent his early years embroiled in the regional battles sparked by the ambitions of his father’s Vul’Adnian Magistrate, constantly at odds with the Seekers. Where the Seekers sought to lock away the powerful magical artifacts that dotted the mountains, Osfirth’s people believed in using these ancient relics to expand their domain. The tension between the factions only fueled his determination to see Vuulydon’s borders stretch ever further into the treacherous Firefang Jags.
Osfirth’s reign was punctuated by conflict, notably the Viravna Rebellions, when the lowborn, pushed to their breaking point by the battles with the Seekers, they revolted against the Viravna Order, Vuulydon's harsh military. During this time, the Masok Konsul, a mysterious faction long since silenced, returned to aid the rebels, hiding their faces behind solemn masks. Osfirth quashed the rebellion with decisive force, banishing the masked traitors to the desolate Duntaluum Canyon, where they founded Clarion, the City of Traitors—a bitter reminder of the cost of defiance.
Throughout his forty-year reign, Osfirth continued his father’s work of expansion into the Gaulan Plains and further north into the Jags, securing alliances within the mountains and slowly crafting an empire backed with magical superiority. He was a king of wisdom and measured governance, advancing Vuulydon’s dominance while avoiding reckless aggression. His shrewd, careful rule allowed Vuulydon to flourish, but it was his unyielding drive to make the Firefang Jags the heart of his empire that would be his legacy. When Osfirth finally passed at the age of 99, his people mourned not just the loss of a king but the end of an era defined by expansion, essence extraction, and powerful rule. He left behind a kingdom on the brink of external pressure, and his son, Gilberd, inherited the daunting task of holding the empire together.
