Born into the noble Rhytyn family, Hanifa was a poised and intelligent woman who grew up surrounded by politics and trade in her father Abuu’s household. She was the daughter of the Tombking of the Caluan Desert. When she was young, she was moved to Arboran. Her marriage to Eastking Evander Windslayer was arranged by her father as part of a larger political strategy, a union intended to bind the fortunes of the Windslayers and the Rhytyns.
In Arboran, Hanifa quickly adjusted to her new life. Though her marriage to Evander was not born of love, it evolved into a partnership based on mutual respect and understanding. Her sharp mind and calm presence made her a valuable confidante to Evander, and she grew to be an influential figure in Arboran’s court. She often mediated disputes among the nobles and advised Evander on matters of diplomacy and governance, her insight shaped by her upbringing in a family skilled in the art of negotiation.
With her olive-toned skin and dark, graceful features, Hanifa was known for her understated elegance. She dressed in simple yet luxurious garments, favoring flowing fabrics in shades of forest green and deep burgundy, the colors of Arboran. Her keen intellect and wisdom made her beloved among the people of the East, and she worked diligently to uphold the Windslayer legacy alongside her husband. Together, they raised their sons, Hilger and Arren, instilling in them both the responsibility of leadership. This backfired years into his rule when Aundrea Windslayer challenged her brother for the throne. Laws were written by the aging Ivorus and the first Easter Moot was held after none of the Champions garnered enough votes from the Cinnead Chiefs. Hanifa’s sons both challenged for their father’s throne. Arren was killed in the fighting and Aundrea spared but still defeated her brother Evander.
