Driftrott
Driftrott is tolerated rather than admired among the Oakenfolk. His bark is darkened and pitted, stained by decades of tending rot, mould, and venom. Where other treants cultivate growth, Driftrott studies collapse—how wood softens, how roots fail, how life returns to soil through decay. His knowledge is precise, unsettling, and effective.
He was unexpectedly chosen as the next Greendreamer of the Botanoron, he watches over the Green Palace with quiet vigilance. Poisonous fungi grow where his roots pass, arranged deliberately along approach paths and beneath stonework, lethal to the careless. During his years as an outsider, he taught toxins to the wood elf Snakeroot, trading methods and materials; many of Snakeroot’s hunting poisons were first distilled by Driftrott. He remains at his post, patient and unsentimental, trusting rot and time to do what force cannot.
