Oakenfolk

Speak in riddles. The oakenfolk are the folk in oak who speak the oakenspoke.     We are the Oakenfolk, the folk in oak who speak the Oakenspoke. We invoke roots of old while the early gnome was still yolk. Unbroke, we sat rooted, hidden under the cloak of the great canopy. We the folk of oak evoke the green spirit and stray from fire. We revoke your flame and smoke but whence the blaze burned, our legs awoke and we stood provoked as we walked and choked the sparks that evoked movement within our folk. To the river we drench brush to soak, every one of us aided you precarious blokes who brought flame and smoke to our home. Together we spoke and woke as the Oakenfolk no longer rested in the woods, as we awoke unbroke from the roots that bound us aged folk. We became the Oakenfolk.     We are the Oakenfolk, the folk that live in Oak and speak the Oakenspoke. Our roots go deep within the woods, where ancient secrets are evoked. We stand tall and wise, like trees that reach the skies, watching over the land where life's stories arise.   In the Oakenspoke, we share our tales, of ancient wonders and forest trails. Though our words may rhyme, we converse in rhythms slow, for in the calm and steady cadence, our wisdom's flow.   As guardians of the woods, our duty is clear, to protect and cherish all that's dear. Through passing cycles, we endure, our timeless bond with nature pure.   Every three and one half millennium, the Passing of the Green arrives, when Cathedral Ents lay themselves to rest, their spirits still alive. In the hallowed Botanoron, their wisdom's weaved, and their titles passed to kin, so their guidance is received.   Among us stand five Cathedrals strong, each with a role that guides along. The Wakener of the Green awakens the forest life, as the sun brings the day to rife. The Shepherd of the White Herd connects us to the Tree Mother's grace, ensuring harmony in every place.   The Protector of the Grove safeguards the woodland's heart, defending all creatures, a vital part. The Botanical Archdruid, with mastery profound, nurtures and tends to plants, in verdant beauty they're crowned.   Within the Botanoron, the Greendreamer stays, preserving the forest's memory, in ancient whispers' sways. Their knowledge we seek, their wisdom we invoke, as we abide in unity, folk of Oak.     For many cycles, before man and elf bickered over borders you had the Giantfolk, the fae and the mighty Oakenfolk. Also known as Treants, these large tree-like beings wander the woods, lumbering through their days as they watch over the Incantum Forest. A close relationship has formed between the Treants and the Wood Elves of Galfin. Passing of the Green takes place every 3500 years. The Oakenfolk allow each tribe to bring two guests with them to witness the Passing of the Green. This is when the elder Treants lay themselves to rest by planting their old moss covered bodies into the heritage site known as the Botonoron. This allows their consciences to be woven with the root system of the forest. As they pass on they hand their titles to the next generation of Oakenfolk, allowing their spirits to be reached by anyone who seeks aid within the Green. Wakener of the Woods - The Treant tasked with making sure the flowers and animals of the forest wake each and every day. If the sun is shining then the Wakener works. Shepherd of the White Herd - The direct connection to the Tree mother Kishar, the patron deity of the forests of Galfin. Protector of the Grove - The leader of the Oakenfolk and the one designated to keeping his kin and all that reside within the forest safe from all harm. Botanical Archdruid - The treant who can mend any plant, grow any shrub and find any herb. The bearer of this title is the utmost master on all things green and growing. Greendreamer of the Botonoron - This ent remains in the Botonoron, a place where one can seek knowledge from the forest long past. They tend to the planted elders and ensure their spirits live on through the roots of Incantum.
