Long ago, elves ruled Galfin, man was nothing more than a primal race. Elves of old began using the dim-witted man for slave labor, Millenia passed and man began to realze the fraility of elves; man usurped the elves forcing them into the recesses of Galfin, the age of elves had finished. The age of man had begun. In modern days the leader of the fire elves has a great burden left on his shoulders; protect his kin from the prejudice and tyranny that is outside the Firefang Jags. The first fire elves tamed the great Ashtorm Hydra; now every Flame Master has the task to control the great beast. The current Flame Master, Burley, is not an exceptional fire conjurer but is a remarkable leader. The Flame Master's son, Charison, is foretold to lead the fire elves to greatness. Burley taught his son everything he knew and even then his skills could not match his adolescent son's. He is fully aware that he is only holding the leadership mantle until his son is ready but until then, he will lead his people to the best of his ability. The Flame Master maintains the realm of the Firefang Jags and will give his life for his people. Burley believes that the human's hatred towards the elves is ending as some who have decided to leave their mountain home returned with great stories of adventure and friendship. Burley's own brother is a respected ship captain for the High Guard fleet. The Flame Master has decided that maybe man is no longer an enemy of the elves, and the elves have been in hiding for so long that they now more of a mystery than a menace. Perhaps the age of man is near its end, and the age of both elf and human can create peace between the ancient races.

Charison Flintnite is much more powerful than his father but Burley will not give hs title to his son until he proves he is emotionally ready.
Although Burley speaks of coexistance between elves and humans, he actually fears man and wants to stay hidden in the Firefang Jags.
