His own father committed suicide soon after, leaving him in control of a disgraced house and convinced of a shadowy organization known as Septimus being behind a great plot to assassinate him.   Bryce retreated to his employment on the Extra-Galactic Observatory to avoid perceived assassins, and spends his days planning his retirement finances and scrutinizing any new additions to the crew.   It was noted by quIRK that Bryce cannot speak Latin, despite his pride in being a true Roman citizen.

He has no compunctions against slavery, owning a number himself to work on his vineyard during his absence.   The ultimate good to him is the accumulation of power. He sees nothing wrong with revenge or needless cruelty to his subordinates.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Bryce secretly has designs on the Imperatrix's position, desiring to become the Imperator of Caesarea. He wants to accomplish this through buying a seat on the senate and using his wealth to marry into a powerful family.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Bryce cannot conceive that he is wrong, and he is delusional about his importance in the grand scale of the universe.

Bryce typically likes people from the more Earth-like planets, that is New Damascus, Kanadia Prime, Caesarea, and Nova Albion.   He holds a particular disdain for Aurorans, as he considers their mutations distasteful. Elyssians are also low on his scale of approval, as they have received a great deal of genetic engineering to survive on their world. He feels that people from Kanadia Prime have more implants than humanity, but considers them good workers.
