Music Bonding
Overview
Only the Anslata Elves craft instruments that are far more than what they seem. These musical instruments heal souls, calm spirits, bring joy, sound loader than they should, and more. Mostly only Anslata elves are bonded to these instruments as they are naturally musically talented. Though when an instrument is not bonded it can sometimes bond to other race should they posses fine musical talents.
Crafting
When an Anslata elf is crafting an instrument they follow four patterns.
First they give the instrument a name. Only the maker knows the name of the instrument until the it wishes to reveal its true name to its wielder.
Second they give it a color of personality.
Third they give it a season.
Fourth they give it an elemental type.
Finally they inscribe its nature, a combination of its purpose and personality onto the instrument in ancient elvish.
The instrument will resemble the patterns it was given, for example if it was given the color gold it will be largely a golden color made from golden materials such as gold or golden wood. Naturally these materials will give it a unique sound, furthermore it will define the personality of the instrument. Gold is associated with joy or festival music, that will be the specialty of this instrument. Piking the season of an instrument will make its music more powerful during that chosen season and it will be stylized according to its season. The element type of the instrument will further its design such as carvings of that element and other additions. Elemental types will also give the instrument a few attributes, instruments with fire are great at battle inspiration or those of nature are great for healing the soul, furthermore instruments with their chosen elemental type will bond to those who fulfill their elemental type. In Elven culture and their religion, each elemental type defines personality traits that are at the core of a person.
Once these steps have been made and the Instrument finished a portion of the makers energy will be absorbed by it. The maker usually feels week after a making is finished and will need food and rest to replenish their magical energy. Furthermore an instrument will always answer to its maker unless it is bonded to another.
Awakening
An instrument will awaken once it is crafted. This is only true of Anslata craftsmanship no other race can do this. Once an instrument is awakened it can choose a host to bond with, and has a certain level of sentience. While in an unbonded state it will act like a normal instrument. Only it will never wear, fade, nor loose it's tune. It is effectively immune to ageing. Furthermore the older the instrument is the stronger it becomes to the point where it may gain new abilities such as speech, the ability to cheer other in deepest sorrow and generally anything to further its personality.
Bonding
Bonded instruments can only be played by their chosen host. Anyone else who tries the instrument will not function for them. When bonded they can help direct their host how best to play for a person or audience through nudges of emotion. Theo older they become the more abilities they gain. Generally they only bond to those that match their personality make up and will further their nature.
