Alarriel, the Maiden of Blades

Champion of the Astral Light

Alarriel is known as the Goddess of Valor's Edge and holds the second seat of the Celestine Pantheon.
She is considered the goddess of devotion, swordsmanship, and courage.   Before the mortal races came to be, legends speak of a great war between the Aether and the Nether. Among its many warriors, one stood out amongst the celestial armies, an almost ethereal figure thought to be a denizen of the Astral Sea itself. Her name would echo across the fields of battle, her mastery of the sword unrivaled as she rose to become as the eternal champion of the heavens: Alarriel.

Appearance

The stories of Alarriel have left her with a distinct appearance in comparison to her fellow deities of the Celestine Pantheon. Her true form is always depicted as being blue, either due to an ancient origin as an eladrin or her supposed origins from the Astral Sea. To avoid prying eyes, all forms used as her avatars are of a more common shade depending on the people she seeks to interact with.   Regardless of her form, she's always described as having long black hair and bears a ruby on her forehead. Her attire is often quite simple and humble, wearing only a select few pieces of armor along with elegant cloth to cover herself, caring little for maintaining several outfits. During combat she often puts her athletic form on display, her body toned and fit for battle at all times, often thought to carry more blades than she wears clothing.

Personality

Alarriel is widely considered to be the most loyal deity of them all. Not only has she devoted herself eternally to her master but so too does she devote herself to her followers, her training, and her charge. While other deities show great loyalty, often towards their own masters and work, Alarriel stands out as a goddess who'll never let anyone down, so long as they are within her care.   Despite her loyalty towards her followers, such is only gained by devoting themselves in turn towards her and her diligent path of the warrior. As such, only select few can claim to have earned her true favor, others merely earning a glimpse of her kindness. These chosen few are considered her champions and are some of the deadliest fighters of mortalkind, able to call upon her aid to empower themselves with divine strength no matter where they go in their battles against evil.   Even when the Aether is at peace and none require her aid, she remains loyal to her charge by training vigorously and meditating frequently to relax her body while training her mind. Her devotion also extends to her large arsenal of blades, maintaining each one on a regular basis to never let them know wear or tear. Even something so simple as a cup of tea is had in service of keeping her form fit for fight, maintaining a cleansed and serene spirit of kindness and good.

Abilities

Standing not just as the most loyal deity, so too is Alarriel said to be the fastest. In the blink of an eye, she can cut down entire armies with her wide assortment of bladed weapons. Ever favoring swords, commonly wielding one in each hand, she's one of the most skilled deities in terms of martial prowess. While others are said to surpass her in pure skill, her celerity is often said to grant her a vast edge on any foe she faces.   Her disciplined mind is also said to be incredibly strong, none but the strongest deities able to bend her to their will. Her inner peace and tranquility also allows her to sense all life around her, making it impossible to get the jump on her. Her magical powers often grant her even more speed and enhance her strikes with the powers of light and purity, all things evil knowing best to fear a single cut from her enchanted blades.

Worship

Alarriel is incredibly popular among several military organizations, its soldiers devoted to their intense training and service of their people. You might even find her followers amongst those with no desire to wield a sword, having instead devoted themselves to other walks of life and give their all to improve their skills. Her most noteworthy followers often keep to themselves in most solitary corners of society, finding tranquility in their work and earning great fame for being true masters of their craft or legends with a blade.   The most important aspect of any of Alarriel's followers is their devotion. Whether they remain true to a particular master, their people, a craft, pursuit, or simply their dedication to work hard, you can be certain that her followers always give it their all. The most devoted often earn great renown from the world around them, many seeking them out for their talents even if they choose to live in the farthest corners of the land. While some choose to settle down and perfect their skills, others with the opportunity love to travel the world and learn from others, often while defending the innocent with their incredible martial prowess.
