Technocrat

The official head of the Church of Perpetual Motion, the Technocrat is typically more of an administrative role than spiritual. He is expected to attend seasonal celebrations, and his support has been known to sway neighborhood elections, but by and large he operates behind the scenes. "He" is a term of some contention. The Church of Perpetual Motion has frequently promoted women's rights and highlighted the roles of women within the institution, yet to date every Technocrat has been a man. The Technocrat is elected to his position by the College of Wisemen, named for the original Gods of Paradise. Being Jovannan's mortal representative, it is widely assumed that Jovannan plays an unofficial role in the selection process. Originally, this office was called "Pontiff," and some still use this title in referring to the Church's leader.
