Grandfather
Title for male-presenting priests of LLontel and his Children in Chalibeth populations. These names stem from a time when the Priesthood of Llontel were persecuted and had to hide among their communities.
Responsibilities
The priesthood oversees festivities, performs ceremonies, organizes community emergency supplies and services, offers counseling services, and fosters orphans.
Benefits
Minor magics granted by the gods, community acceptance and support, participation in all community events without fees.
Accoutrements & Equipment
Grandfathers braid red ribbons (or a color corresponding to their chosen patron) and wood-carved skull beads into their hair, beard, or clothing laces. In recent years, Half-Orc Grandfathers have started crafting metal skull-embossed rings for their tusks. Each Grandfather carries a holy symbol of at least one of the gods and a flask of holy water. Grandfathers wear black and a personal accent color.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
It would take an act of malicious intent to harm the community at large to remove a priest from their power. This has never happened but would result in a loss of power, a loss of community standing, and punishment in the Deadlands.
