Church of the Dyad
As the folk religion of the people of Alesia, veneration of the Dyad is inseparable and indistinguishable from Human culture itself. All of its laws, morals, values, politics, celebrations and daily practices are passed down through a written history dating back roughly 650 years to what is considered the creation of both the world and Humanity. The church itself holds a monopoly on education and criminal justice, ensuring that the daily lives of the people are deeply intertwined with the church. Religious dogma emphasizes the importance of community and mutual support to continuing prosperity, and it serves as the absolute social fabric of the populace.
The core ideals of the church are the promotion of abundance, individual purpose, tranquility, and freedom. It emphasizes the importance of hard work and labor to earn things of value, finding meaning through responsibility, and the imperative to be in service to your fellow human being for the common good. These values are codified within The Twelve Precepts, which serves as a general guideline of ethical behavior. The code of law is then derived as an injunction against any violation of the Precepts. For example, theft would be a violation of honesty, compassion and courtesy.
