Tyrai System
A cursed area of space home to unknown species and many dangers, all charts of the system are incorrect. Especially the ones that indicate it is a singular star system, with a singular star, and only four planets. It is in fact an entire star cluster, densely packed with planetary systems all hidden by some currently unknown means. Charting the cluster is impossible due to interference from an unknown source, possibly a blackhole located at the center of the cluster.
The only known living thing in the Tyrai Cluster is The Decimation. Though no one knows what exactly The Decimation is, some have speculated based on logs from The Tyrai Excursion's Chief Pilot Axini Suhd that it is an old god, possibly Xi, whom the Ahsi fear as "The Void". a dark entity theorized to be capable of "bathing the universe in darkness unrelenting, as it was in the time before Light."
For as long as ships have been capable of sailing the seas of space, so too has Tyrai been (in human terms) a sort of "Bermuda Triangle". It's unknown what about the area makes it so dangerous, but no ship that has ever gone into the system has ever returned and ships that get near it but not close enough to scan it, return with most of their sensors fried, databanks corrupted, and tales of how just being near to the system feels like intruding on something.
Until the rediscovery of the SM2-Python, no vessel that had entered the cluster had ever been recovered, and no knowledge of what lies inside had ever been documented.
