Xi
"When the universe was young, Ci and her lover, Xi were all that existed, brought forth by the tianretason, the people before time. Ci, our mother, and Xi, her lover, were happy. For time immeasurable, as time did not exist, they were happy. Ci grew lonely, however, and wished for children, someone to share the vastness with her.
"This made Xi angry. 'Am I not enough?' Xi demanded. Xi was cruel and unforgiving once Ci angered her. For how can The Void, empty and bleak, how can a being of pure darkness understand love? Xi was soulless, heartless, empty. Xi wished only for Ci. Xi did not understand why Ci would want there to be more, unwilling to share, Xi decided to abandon Ci.
"In her anger, she thrived. She spread her claim, expanding, taking as much as she wanted of the infinite. If she could not convince Ci that she was all that Ci could need, she would leave no room for Ci to grow.
"When Ci created Xian, the first light our Star, it was without Xi. Not long after, Xi realized that the more Xian expanded, the more Xian spread her love for her mother, our mother, the more xianes--stars--were created, the more Xi lost. For the bleakest blackness cannot exist where there is light.
"Xi, in a terrible fit of rage, attempted to return to Ci and slay her so that nothing more could be created. Xian, wielding a shield of pure light and a sword of pure love, protected Ci. Xi could not stand up to the purest of light, and was driven back by Xian's advance.
"Xian imprisoned Xi within Tianirai--the place out of time. Where Xi now remains, biding her time. Sleeping. Growing stronger. Long May She Rest.
