Iain keeps his straw blonde hair clipped short except for a bit of an unruly mop on top, and wears a sweat-darkened leather band tied across his forehead.

Personal history
Iain grew up in a frontier town where every able-bodied citizen was a member of the militia. He was apprenticed to his uncle, at one time a respected member of the metalworkers guild in Baldur’s Gate, and showed considerable talent in the field. Iain was thus well-trained as both a soldier and as a smith. When he left town with a letter of introduction to the guild in hand, he was well-equipped with tools of his own make: a sturdy suit of chainmail, a halberd he calls “Gracie”, a warhammer named “ol' Reliable”, and a pair of hand axes.
Employment
Accepted into Parliament’s Distinguished Union of Metalworkers in Baldur’s Gate, Iain is well-employed in his trade. As an armourer and weaponsmith of good reputation, he has built contacts within the Flaming Fist. Through his adventuring friends he developed contacts within the Order of the Gauntlet as well. As a result, Iain often finds himself called upon by one or the other to aid in the defence of the city.

Community. It is the duty of all civilized people to strengthen the bonds of community and the security of civilization.
Nothing is more powerful than people coming together with a common sense of purpose and justice. When you treat others with friendship and fairness, they return it, and the world becomes a little bit better.
