The initial aim was to have a coherent setting I can run for the Dungeons & Dragons RPG. It’s also to showcase my love for writing and to provide others a setting they too can fall in love with.
I, as the author, am innatley opposed to any pandering or virtue signaling. I would much rather the content outlast the short-term messaging of today's issues so that it can remain relevant for many years later. The only messaging I want for the Florenic Worlds are ones about humanity and the soul. The factions, countries, and organizations in the various worlds are not innately good or evil. They have their own reasons for choosing the pathways that they do.
I am hoping to provide a custom setting I can entertain others with.
What makes the Florenic Worlds appealing is that each tethered world has its own differences to define itself as its own setting. There are enough similarities to other settings that keep each Florenic World consistent as well. This helps to provide a sense of underlying canon as a group tires with one world and moves on to a different setting.
Overall, it’s fantasy. The subgenres varies between the following:
Arturias is meant to have a feel of how epic invention and ingenuity is. What makes such technology scary are the people behind it. With so much beauty in the world, it could all come crashing down from human error.
Duovia is about the interesting beauty between cultures and how deceiving looks can be.
Faunerro is about the fight for a moral and just world. Evil influences and powers mock the heroes, testing their sense of “good,” and “moral.”
The overall feel of Florenelle is a moderate fantasy setting with a Georgian era/18th century aesthetic. A mixture of emerging from outdated feudal society and grabbing on to newborn modern ideas such as enlightenment.
When focusing on Florenelle (as in the material plane), it's a lighter kind of feel. But should the characters pursue matters from the Necromantic War or Entropic Void, that's when they delve into the darker tone of the setting.
When alone, characters struggle the most when making a name for themselves. When they form their own group or align with a current deity or faction and gain notoriety, they’ll have an easier time.
The Colonial War is a massive intercontinental conflict between the rival powers of the Triumvirate and Trinidad.
The old Coalition, the alliance between the Feydom Confederacy, Vrexen, and the Dominion of Argatok has been up for debate on its relevancy. Because Arkonia has been defeated long ago, is it still worthwhile to align or is it safe to cut those ties?
Kordgelle is secretive in an irritating way. Should someone find a means of unearthing why that is, they better pray he does not force them to forget.
To all our Our Patrons for their unwavering love and support.
