Finalizing the Ball
The Party finished up their time with the ball. Some having better experiences than others.
Cassius Intrigues the Director
Cassius knew getting more closer and involved with the Director meant needing some backing. He then showed the Director the peculiar Aversal symbol with wings. It was enough to spook Akord into agreeing to a discreet meeting at his office within the Home Facility.
Daniel's Dance
Researcher Amelia Cerine, drunk as ever, stumbled toward Daniel, as he reminded him of another researcher she knows who is also nerdy and unconfident. She babbled and babbled and Daniel took what chance he could to step aside. After Gloria got him hooked on a few drinks, he gained enough confidence to go ahead and dance with Cerine anyways. He did manage to pull it off well enough.
Though, by the end of the ball, he vomited from too much alcohol.
A Revolution in Marecoro
General Amadeus sought "Old Reliable" Gloria with a complication he's been having in the coastal province of Marecoro. Some rebels have risen up in defiance of the Artisans taking over the country. They believe the General Assembly isn't enough to ensure they get their representation. It doesn't help Amadeus' resources have been getting directed toward General Veinstlom's archaeology venture instead.
The Stlikere general was amused. He insisted that Gloria may as well join his venture instead anyways. Amadeus insisted that a compromise could be made. Quelling the rebels could be measured, whereas finding this object couldn't. Once the rebels were quelled, Gloria could join his venture. The agreement was made.
A Meeting with the Director
Aversal Symbol
Meeting with Director Akord, the party discussed the eerie symbol. Akord had done research and explained that it was likely a symbol of the Gathering, specifically Grothka. An old and hideous group of abominations all vying to escape their Entropic Void prison. Because it's Grothka, the abomination has ties to the element of air, and insists that Wrench could be in danger because of it.
Nearis Dentiry
Nearis Denitry is likely a Harvester, a special title for those who try to release their affiliated Gatherer. Akord warned that Denitry will be the most difficult and slipperiest foe they will fight. These clever cultists will have contingencies and coverups to ensure they can salvage their operations in some fashion.
Wellspring of Power
Back in the early Nastirn Era, the Cultivarum created the Wellspring of Power as a source of power and energy that vitalized the Empire and they managed to expand to almost all of the continent. When the Empire began to squabble over who would be Emperor, that is when it's said the Cultivarum removed the Wellspring to mitigate the damage the infighting would have. Where it could be now is a mystery.
At the mention of the byakhee seeking light to devour, concerned Akord. He assessed it's likely a means to utilize the power of the Wellspring to free Gatherers from the Void. This meant a search was on. Not only does it seem Denitry was looking into it but also Cordero. What worried him was who else could be on the hunt. He insisted to the party that the Institute should be the one to contain the Wellspring. This would ensure no one could receive and exploit it. Such power would be reserved for keeping the volatile anomalies under detainment.
After the meeting, the party now comes back at nightfall, keen to find a means into the Director's Office.
