Curse of Strahd Session 1
General Summary
14th of Mid-Ardent, 1736
We begin with a tragedy. The funeral of Antonin Fevre. Venezian choirs ring out their melancholic requiems as a crowd of unfamiliar guests linger around the chapel. The gilded casket sitting only feet away from the front row is adorned with feathered iconography. A clash of thunder sounds in the distance as the lightning shines through the windows, glistening on the statues of celestials and simple patterns within the walls of the church.
The building is quiet as everyone whispers among each other.
Two guests adorned with bright, eye-catching colors sit in the pews. Zhari? For the Fevre boys, their appearance is strange and foreign to a place like Valencia, and yet, they are oddly familiar.
After attending their father's funeral, they receive word from Vistani sources that the youngest Fevre brother is in the clutches of the Infernal Clan.
After following the trail, they find Tastarn about to make a getaway with Infernal thugs in stagecoaches. Finral yanked Tastarn into the street as the Infernal Clan drove off. After convincing Tastarn about his heritage, the party is approached by the Vistani about going to the land of Barovia to stop the ruthless Dreadlord.
After meeting with Madam Eva, the party is given a card reading about where useful items are hinted about the land, potential allies to aid them, and where the vampire Strahd resides in Ravenloft. The party headed for the Village of Barovia, wondering about the burgomaster and seeking to protect Ireena Kolyana from trouble. The party then went to the Village of Barovia to investigate matters about a small house in the village. They were told by two small children that a monster resides in the basement. The party then went inside to investigate what could be lurking down below...
