Peep'Hole inc.
The Start
It was a decade or two ago, when a series of particularly interesting infomercials started popping up on TV. These advertised a strange device called peep hole, that would let you listen in on strangers' conversations. No doubt it was a sophisticated piece of then the most advanced technology, but it looked quite simple: a piece of paper with a hole in it, through which you could watch your surroundings while pretending to read. Some thought this idea was genius, others thought it was a ludicrous attempt to scam people for money, but no one even suspected this would be the start of what is now known as Peep’Hole inc., a chain of shops that can now be found in many districts of Å+*4~. The man behind this idea was John, who today still owns the company, together with his daughter Andreja.
Shops and Items
Today Peep’Hole stores can be found as 97 convenient locations across Å+*4~ - Central District, and several nearby Districts of Å+*4~. These shops sell a variety of more or less useful items for more or less affordable prices. Some of these items include things such as the aforementioned peep hole, sunglasses that actually work, sunscreen that actually works, phone case with a wallet, camera drones and spoon with an umbrella. Besides these, the stores sell many trinkets, gadgets, small household items, stationery and even cosmetics.
Peep’Hole shops have gained somewhat of a reputation for selling cheap and lower quality items, but that is also a part of their charm and what brings thousands of customers to these shops every day. People like to browse through kitschy items and buy a few random things here and there. Sometimes you don’t want or need to have a custom made ornately carved wooden jewelry box made and shipped to you from Fairy Gardens and just a simple plastic container will do. Great majority of items here will have that infamous “made in T@Ö#Å3” label printed on them. Now don’t get me wrong, T@Ö#Å3 is well known for many of its high quality products, but these aren’t one of those. These are the cheeply mass produced items to sell for low price and use up fast.
Nevertheless, these shops are quite popular among the people, especially the ones in Å+*4~ who may not be able to afford to always buy the high quality, expensive artisan items that are otherwise so commonly sold all across the world.
Ownership of shops
Peep Hole inc. also serves a good business opportunity for many. Due to the company’s structure, the company Peep Hole inc. is not the direct owner of these stores, but rather sells licenses to independent business owners who want to open their own Peep’Hole shop. These, of course, are a subject to the brand and all its rules and regulations as well as paying part of their profits; but for some this is a perfect opportunity to own their own shop without having the full responsibility for it.
Generally, Peep'Hole HQ is still in charge of most things relating to these shops, as well as for advertising new products. You will see Peep'Hole advertised in several episodes of BBOLJ and DANGER COMIC. These adverts are made by Peter, John's son, and usually feature Salesman who works for several companines.
Some of the Notable Items
- Peep Hole - This is the first item sold by the company, and the one that company owes its success to. This is really just a piece of paper with a hole in it, designed to secretly observe others while pretending you're reading. Due to the nature of the item, being intended to secretly observe others, it's no surprise it caught attention of the Agents. They are trying to obtain it through many episodes of Men in Black series.
- Invisible Cape - This started as Andrej's prank that got out of hand. As soon as John found out about it, he thought it would be a good idea to sell it in his shops.
- Musical Singing Rock - This is is one of those gimmicky gadgets that's actually probably no more than a speaker that you can use to play all of your favorite music.
- Magic Eyes - These are sunglasses that are believed to let you see other people's underwear, among other things.
- Sunscreen that actually works - With their pale skin, and living in a place with long summers and a lot of sunlight, moles need good protection for their skin. A lot of sunscreens on the market don't have quite what it takes to protect moles' sensitive skin, but this one does. It's produced in T@Ö#Å3 tho, so god knows what other more harmful stuff there is in there.
- Sunglasses that actually work - Similar to the above point, moles have sensitive eyes as well. They need a good protection for their eyes, that these sunglasses effectively provide. The only downside is, they may block your vision altogether.
- Camera Drone - A fun and useful gadget you can play with, use it for video recording or sneakily spying on people
