Industrial Area

Geography

Industrial Area of T@Ö#Ä3 spreads along the southeast border of City of T@Ö#Ä3. It runs from south to north between City and Mountain Area. Dry and barren land here wouldn't be much more than just a part of the wasteland, if it wasn’t built up with factories, but robots are the only ones living here.

Nature

Industrial Area lies pretty much in Wasteland and shares many of its characteristics. Land is dry and barren, and whatever animal or plant life may have been here, was chased away when the factories were built. Climate here is dry, but not as dry as most of the Wasteland. Being near Mountain area, this area gets its share of rain and snow over the year, though not a lot.

This area is almost never out of reach for the black sun that shines on the silver sky.

Town

There aren’t any real people living here, only the artificial ones. Their needs differ form the ones that the real people may have, and it shows. Most of the buildings here are factories, with only a few shops scattered around that sell various goods and products that artificial people may need for their daily lives.. There are a few private residences for the more sophisticated artificial people to get away from their daily work, but many of these still prefer to live in City, if they only get a chance. Many stay and work in factories day and night only rarely stopping their production. Dubbed “the city that never sleeps”, streets of Industrial Area are always full of robots running around, from drones flying overhead, to self-driving vehicles delivering goods, to advanced mole-like artificial people overseeing the production. But apart from factories, offices and a few apartment buildings, this area doesn’t have any restaurants, museums, parks or any other things you’d expect in a mole city. This area is dedicated solely to work and mass production.

People

There are no people here. The only ones inhabiting this place are robots or the more advanced Artificial People. Intelligent as they may be, most of them are working factory robots, designed to do their job. However, there is a class of sophisticated, high end intelligent robots, that are very mole-like, in their appearance and intelligence. These are in charge of companies and production going on in this area. By moles they are considered as equals in business and enjoy all the rights that a mole would. People might judge you if you are in a relationship with one of them though. Even more so if you get yourself a custom made sex bot; that’s pretty pathetic.

Despite all the similarities, they are pretty different from moles. They are more work oriented and unemotional. While they are very intelligent, some might say that even more than moles, they find that emotional intelligence is not easy to program. There are many things about moles, their emotions and imagination, that robots will never have. They try to understand and empathize with moles, but may seem cold or erratic, either overreacting or underreacting to situations. That’s why they prefer not to get too mixed up in moles’ silly drama and just keep to themselves and focus on their work.

Resources

Industrial Area doesn’t have its own natural resources, but they import many raw materials from all over the world to produce goods.

Industrial Area is best known for its production of electronics, machinery and vehicles, but they also produce and export many other things, such as paper, fabrics or plastic, packaging made from those materials and many everyday items. Moles highly appreciate handmade products, but there are things they can’t make themselves, or can't produce as much as mass consumption would demand. In these situations, mass produced factory made items are what keeps the mole society running. Of course, a lot of these items are cheaper and often of lesser quality than items made with the love and dedication of moles. They are useful, but not as deeply valued.

Other

Industrial Area run by robots might not seem like a place where you’d find art, but this is actually not the case here. Right on the border between Industrial Area, City of T@Ö#Ä3 and Wasteland, lies area known as Black Desert. Black Desert is known for its black and sparkly sand, and large metal structures, scattered all across the desert. They are strange, mostly abstract, but some are vaguely shaped like humanoid creatures that are said to occasionally come to life. Though some moles can’t believe it, it’s true that they were made by the artificial people living here.
