Especially in East T@Ö#Å3 you’ll notice there’s a lot of freaks. While their anomalies can and do cause problems in their everyday lives, there are also bonuses to their conditions. They know full well that they look different from other people, and they know how to use this to their advantage. They like to be seen as different, odd or even shocking. They enjoy being seen as freaks, they like to be noticed and to disturb other people with their appearances. Knowing they are rare, and most people aren’t used to their appearances, they know they can use other people’s morbid curiosity about their conditions to make a good profit.

Freak Shows

Knowing their anomalies may prevent them from living normal lives and performing a lot of tasks most people take for granted, and the ones necessary to do a lot of jobs, freaks have decided to fully cash in on their freakiness. And while they are unable to perform a lot of takst normal people can, they may be able to do other things normal-bodied people can’t do.

Step right up to see an armless man juggle with his feet, a legless man do a handstand sprint, or just gawk at the man with an upside down face. He smiles as he knows you’ll pay good money to see him, and he’ll make a fortune from people looking at him.

These freaks come with a wide variety of anomalies and also a wide variety of talents and creative ways to overcome their disadvantages. People with short legs will learn to use their arms that much better, people with short arms will compensate by making better use of their legs, people with upside down faces have a unique worldview, but don’t even ask about people with upside down digestive tracts.

Non Freaks

You have to understand that in this part of the world, being a freak is just about the fanciest thing you can be, and not everyone can become one. You either are born as one or not, and after that, there’s not much you can do about it. That doesn’t keep people from trying though. They wear clothes, accessories, get tattoos, piercings and all sorts of body modifications to stand out from the crowd with their appearance as much as they can. While they will never enjoy the fancy status and attention as the true freaks have, they often become close with freaks and become part of the same families as them. They help them out with all the work that needs to be done with freak shows, as well as their daily lives.

Some go the extra length in trying to make themselves so weird that they might even get their own spot in a freak show. One well known case is Snail Man, who went as far as making himself into a half-snail. Was it worth it though? was it? Hm.
