Trained from birth, the Sky Emperor is always the brightest and bravest of the previous emperor's children. Alongside three others, Takeshi would fight to prove his dominance, but would always fall just slight of proving himself the best. Excelling in neither sword mastery nor displays of culture or the arts, it seemed unlikely that the Aarakocra would be chosen by this father. Fortunately for him, it was not the father's choice to make. On the night before the choosing of his heir, the previous Sky Emperor was visited by the spirits of the wind. They foretold that a great cataclysm was to come, and only Takeshi would be equipped to lead the shogunate and its people away from disaster. Spurned by these words, the decision was a shock to all, from nobles to generals, and despite Takeshi's insistence, he was the one who would be chosen. While most of his siblings would honor the decision of his father, his eldest brother Shun would feel cheated and robbed by this decision. That night, Shun would confront their father, and an argument would result in his banishment, refusing to accept this dishonor, shun took up his blade and struck down the Sky Emperor before fleeing the island. Swearing vengeance, Takeshi reluctantly took the throne and has since developed into a strong leader, if not with an unfading scar. To this day, Shun remains a fugitive.
