Brotherhood of Steel: Keystone Chapter
Fear not, for we are not savages, we are the Brotherhood of Steel, and we will harbor neither the mutant nor the machine, you are safe now citizen. - Paladin of the Brotherhood of Steel
Structure
The Keystone Chapter is led in accordance with the similar structure of any other detachment of the Brotherhood of Steel. It is currently led by Elder "Kodiak" Greg Bear, a massive man whose power and battle prowess command respect from all members of the chapter, but whose charismatic and largely jovial attitude garners the love of many more still. The size of the Keystone chapter is such that it demands the appointment of two sentinels, who counsel and aid Elder Kodiak in his efforts to operate and expand the chapter. The Sentinels upon their installation were givens standing orders by Elder Kodiak to aid him in strengthening the chapter and the wider brotherhood. Sentinel Tobias Morgan commands The Wall, the main military installation controlled by the brotherhood on the outskirts of Iron City. From here Sentinel Morgan commands the High Paladins and their forces and acts as the Elder's will within matters related to the military expansion of the chapter. Sentinel Elijah Conn commands The Mill which is the primary steel mill in Iron City which acts as the chapter's primary manufacturing piece of infrastructure, subsequently Sentinel Conn also manages the orders of the Scribes within the chapter and ensures that they are operating with the chapter and the wider brotherhood's best interest in mind.
Sentinel Morgan is the direct superior officer of Head Paladin James White, who himself controls the platoon of paladins at the chapter's disposal. Head Paladin White is the man responsible for the training and command of the paladins of the chapter as largely dictates where they are dispersed within the King of Prussia Wasteland. The platoon is divided up into 4 squads each commanded by a Senior Paladin who reports directly to Head Paladin White. Additionally, there is a small independent squad of elite Star Paladins named The Maulers who report directly to Sentinel Morgan himself and embark on special operations missions deemed Mission Critical by Sentinel Morgan. The leader of the maulers is Star Paladin Edward Puleo, a large man with a main of fiery red hair, his alias among the paladins is Grizzly.
Below the paladins are the knights, similar to the paladins they are clad in power armor but are adorned in a lower version than that of the paladins. The knights of the Keystone Chapter are organized into a company, breaking them up into 3 platoons each one commanded by a Knight Captain. These Captains all report to Head Paladin White, who acts as the Head Knight as well as the Head Paladin. Each platoon is subdivided into 4 squads of knights each commanded by a Knight Sergeant, who report to their respective captains. Supplementing the ranks of the chapter's military are the initiates; these are adult members who aid the knights on their missions and actively seek to become knights themselves.
Sentinel Conn is the Head Scribe for the chapter and as such supervises and appoints the many scribes of the three orders of the brotherhood as well as their proctors.
Olivia Piercen is the Proctor of the Order of The Sword, the scribe order in charge of weapons development and research beneath Proctor Piercen are her three Senior Scribes whom each take on different tasks and projects meant to give the chapter against any technological threat they may encounter within the KOP Wasteland.
The Order of The Shield is responsible for defensive research and development, be it power armor, defensive barriers these scribes specialize in anything meant to defend from attack. This order is guided by Procter Ian O'Hara and his four Senior Scribes who work together to better fortify the Wall and Iron City as well as maintaining the defensive capabilities of the chapter's power armor stores.
The primary objective of the brotherhood is the preservation and gathering of ancient pre-war technology and research. As such the Order of The Quill preserves the knowledge of pre-war technology that the brotherhood has access to, they also send out squads of knights or other initiates to hunt down any number of records of pre-war history or technology. The order is led by Proctor Danielle Reyes and her six senior scribes who tirelessly pour through the holo-records within the city library.
Lastly, the unique class among the east coast detachments of the brotherhood are the Lancers. These are specialized members who are trained specifically for piloting the Verti-birds and air ships of the chapter. These Lancers are assembled into their own corps which is commanded by Lancer Captain Sarah Donnelly. The corps is subdivided into different flights, each commanded by a Lancer Sergeant. A special class of Lancer are the Lancer Knights who pilot the handful of Jet Fighters within the chapter's possession. These Lancer Knights fly out in Kill Teams to eliminate targets from above or provide support to Verti-bird flights or ground units.
Culture
The chapter follows the same codes and laws of conduct as the rest of the brotherhood, adhering to the Codex and the Chain That Binds. These edicts mean strict adherence to the command structure of the chapter and wider brotherhood, brothers are expected to live within their station and fulfil their role to the letter, placing the welfare of the brotherhood above their own safety and longevity.
Public Agenda
The Brotherhood views the pre-war era as a time of mistakes and human pride. They wish to fix those mistakes, as such they abhor runaway technology and believe that all technology should be under brotherhood control or destroyed to prevent it from being further used to harm humanity.
Assets
The chapter has access to the Iron City Steel Works and the RobCo robotics factory within the Iron City, allowing them to make their own arms and armor on a mass scale, including some lines of power armor. The chapter has taken up residency within several dozen bunkers and former vaults across the Keystone and within the KOP Wasteland, above which they have built formidable fortresses and outposts made to keep the surrounding region safe. The chapter has a substantial stockpile of T-50, T-60, and T-45b power armor which has been secured from various facilities across the wasteland, in addition to this they have also garnered a large amassment of laser and plasma weapons as well as several hundred ballistic weapons and heavy weapons of all types. Finally, the chapter has access to a small fleet of Verti-birds outfitted for troop and cargo transport and Jet Fighters, the Iron Airport is their staging area and has also been shown to be able to build them as well, although to a very limited capacity. In addition to this the chapter also has command of The Wall, a massive pre-war military base built into the cliff hills just outside the city limits of Iron City, from there the military might of the chapter is mustered.
History
The Keystone Chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel was originally founded as an expeditionary force sent out by Elder Sarah Lyons in 2278, they began as a recon group of knights and paladins led by Paladin Greg Bear (a.k.a. Kodiak). Paladin Kodiak was sent out with a small contingent of four Verti-birds taken from Raven's Rock following its destruction, Paladin Kodiak and his company were under standing orders from Elder Lyons to survey the area and set up a F.O.B. in the ruins of Allentown a Pre-War industrial city which was once the location of many great steel mills which provided much of the military grade steel for the US Armed Forces stationed within the region. The contingent was also instructed to gather as much advanced technology and weapons caches as they could as well as attain a full map of the region and any substantive structures they may find. When word reached the contingent of Elder Lyon's death Kodiak grew distant from the brotherhood, he continued his duties and maintained his standing orders from Elder Lyons, who was a close friend. Shortly after the death of Elder Lyons, Paladin Kodiak and his contingent managed to get a Steel Mill within the limits of Allentown online and radioed their findings back to the Citadel. Two months following this communication, the newly appointed Elder Rothchild was accompanied by two sentinels and a small contingent of paladins and knights to the mill to give new standing orders to Paladin Kodiak and his contingent. They were to charter a new chapter of the brotherhood within the confines of the city, renaming it Iron City and stating that they were to establish a permanent fortified position within the region.
In 2280 the Keystone Chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel was officially recognized by the Citadel and Iron City became its official capital. Over the next two years multiple elders came and went from the Citadel and in this time the newly named Elder Kodiak made work of utilizing his men to continue to find lost technology and military bases. One such base was The Wall, a massive military installation and headquarters built into the side of the mountains just outside of the city limits of Allentown. The Wall became the chapter’s primary operating base and where they store all their primary armament and equipment, it is also where the Star Paladin is located who coordinates the movements of the many Verti-bird patrols conducted by the brotherhood over the surrounding area. Elder Kodiak’s adherence to the old tenants of Elder Lyons excluding the war against the super mutants made the Keystone Chapter swell in number, garnering recruits from the Brotherhood Outcasts scattered across the Capital Wasteland. In 2283 Arthur Maxson succeeded the long line of inefficient elders, reforging and reforming the East Coast Brotherhood under one banner. Relations between Maxson's brotherhood and the Keystone Chapter remain strong to this day, with Elder Kodiak and Elder Maxson keeping largely frequent contact.

Gazetteer
Iron City is the capital of the chapter, there they have access to two monoliths of pre-war industry, those being the RobCo Automaton factory and the Iron City Steel Mill. In addition, they have the Yard which is the staging area and creation site for much of the chapter's arms and Verti-birds, the chapter has also recently retaken the Iron City Airport from a gang of super mutants and are using that as their new staging area for their Verti-birds. In addition to this Iron City Airport also houses a handful of pre-war Jet Fighters that the scribes of the chapter have managed to get into working order.
The Wall is located just outside the city limits of Iron City and is built into a high cliff wall overlooking the city proper and the greater areas around the I-476 and I-78. Here the chapter is led by the Elder and his Sentinels, below the Wall is Vault 198 a former RobCo R&D vault now turned into the chapter's primary research and development wing where they house the most dangerous and valuable of their pre-war technology.
