Iron City
This town does not tolerate mutants, and we have very little patience for strangers. Go about your business and then leave -Knight Tiber of the 6th Company
Demographics
The brotherhood abhors the mutant, and the thinking machine. As such, Iron City is devoid of all mutants and ghouls, be they feral or otherwise, in addition to this they have also purged much of the automatons within the region and expunged any synths that may have been hiding within the city limits as well.
Government
The city is run and operated by the brotherhood and the people that they protect, and as such the city follows the laws of the brotherhood under the guidance of the Elder of the Chapter.
Defences
Iron City is heavily patrolled and guarded by the Brotherhood, the resources within the city limits are far too valuable to be left lightly guarded. Countless checkpoints and guard stations dot the I-476 and the I-78 that lead into the city and even within the city there are plenty of barracks and fortifications housing brotherhood troops.
Industry & Trade
The brotherhood operates in conjunction with the wider east coast division of the brotherhood, who are based in the Citadel within the Capital Wasteland. The keystone chapter is capable of creating their own arms and armor and they tithe much of the more advanced armors and weapons to the main brotherhood in exchange for reinforcements. Utilizing the skills of their citizenry, the brotherhood flourishes within Iron City, using their made materials and produce to trade with many caravan companies and larger settlements within the wider Keystone Commonwealth.
Infrastructure
Iron City was built around an old pre-war steel mill, the brotherhood has since breathed new life into the mill, and their smiths and armorers work night and day to forge weapons and armor for their chapter. In addition to the mill many old military bases dot the region, all of which have been plundered and turned into bunkers by the chapter. The city itself houses both brotherhood members and civilians that work for the brotherhood and are protected by them, the jobs of these civilians range from skilled laborers to doctors and traders. Some of these citizens are affiliated with the brotherhood and some are even apart of the lower eshelones of the order, but all those who live within Iron City are deemed as a protected people by the brotherhood.
Districts
Iron City covers an area that extends past the boundaries of the I-476, this divide breaks the city up into a few districts. The first of these districts lies within the KOP Wasteland, on the southwestern side of the I-476, this district is called the Yard and is marked by the rows upon rows of warehouses and distribution centers that cover its face. These centers and warehouses are the primary staging grounds for the brotherhood's training and manufacturing of arms, it is also where they stage most of their vertibirds and even bombers.
Traversing across the I-476 into the city proper will also push one out of the KOP Wasteland and into the wider Keystone Commonwealth more often referred to as the Keystone Wasteland. The first of the districts past the I-476 is The Park, also called Old Town, this section of the city is largely abandoned as the Great War bombed most of its standing structures to oblivion, those that live within this section of the city are often just simple junk traders and scavengers trying to make a living within the city by scrounging pieces of pre-war artifacts and sometimes tech.
Moving further northeast is the Main, or main city, this is the heart of Iron City and is where the bulk of the citizens of the city and the brotherhood in its entirety reside. The city is marred with buildings and homes, establishments and military outposts and fortresses. Past the main is the Crater which is the irradiated leftovers of the city following the Great War, it is here that many people work, collecting pre-war artifacts from the irradiated rubble, and disposing of any lingering mutants hiding deep within the sewers and subways of the city.
The Elder and his sentinels lead the chapter from their official seat, named The Wall, a fortress built into the high cliff mountains nearby the city. This is the official operating base for the chapter and is where all of their most valuable and dangerous technology is housed. Below the wall is Vault 198, formerly a RobCo experimentation vault, now the hub of the chapter's research and development wing, and where they are rumored to be copying the blueprints for Liberty Prime a pre-war assault bot prototype.
Assets
The brotherhood has a large armory of weapons and armor most of their weapons are laser weapons and their armor is a modifier steel combat armor. The brotherhood also has power armor models, often choosing the T-60 model of power armor to use for the knight forces. In addition to all there arms and armor the brotherhood also boasts a large collection of vertibirds and a handful of APCs recovered from a pre-war national guard armory. These units are housed within the Yard, under heavy guard and under constant surveillance. The city proper has several steel mills within its confines, these mills are used by the brotherhood and their smiths to forge their weapons and armor, in addition to these mills, an old RobCo robotics factory located within the city makes the robotics used within the T-60 power armor. These combined features allow Iron City to be one of the only places within the continental United States capable of creating power armor on a mass scale.
