Caspian Cove
Caspian Cove is the current King of the Water Royals, known by the title of Sir Caspian. He is stoic and laid-back, and generally keeps to himself.
Background
Caspian was born into royalty, and was the oldest of three siblings. Since he was the oldest, he was automatically the heir to the throne, living his life with the expectations he would one day become King. This put a lot of stress on Caspian, and he never felt quite fit for the position. He was never as sociable or out there or as grand as what he expected a royal needed to be. He was even the quietest of his sisters, both who often overshadowed him. He felt they'd both be better suited for this position than he. But someone who eased these troubles for him was Umiko Cove, a girl he met at one of the many royal parties. Being around her was the first time he truly felt assured he could do it, but ultimately, he didn't think any of that would be possible without her by his side. So, of course, he decided to propose. That way, she could be by his side forever, and he wouldn't have to do this alone. The two of them would marry, Caspian would be crowned King, and they eventually welcomed a child into their lives, Coral Cove (though named something else at the time). Caspian, though he often had a hard time showing it, cared deeply for his daughter. In his own ways, he would dote on her and make sure she had what she needed. But, it was a quiet sort of attention, and he was never very hands on. The two of them had a relatively distant relationship because of that. When Coral was 17, Caspian was dealing with matters of uniting Cyaneous Reef and Emerriden Isle, wanting to bring together the two most established families from both locations. To do this, he arranged for Coral to be wed to the son of a noble family from Cyaneous, Rei. Coral was not happy about this, and she made her distaste very clear. But Caspian was firm on the fact she had no choice, and that this was for the betterment of the kingdom. At the wedding, things blew up in Caspian's face. He learned that his daughter was having an affair, and fights broke out, and many reputations were left tarnished. Caspian, unable to handle his daughter's behavior any further, told her she needed to leave to learn her lesson. And leave she did, but she never came back. Caspian regrets telling her off like that, wishing he hadn't been so harsh. He has no idea where she's gone now, but both himself and Umiko are constantly searching to try and find her. Neither of them know she is now a he, going by an entirely different name and flaunting a different look.Personality
Caspian Cove is a quiet and laid-back leader who doesn't often complain or impose rigid rules. With a calm and composed personality, he exudes a stoic and aloof demeanor, making it difficult to read his emotions. However, if you manage to get him angry, he can be very stern and authoritative, laying down the law without hesitation. Despite this, it is rare to see him lose his cool, with him maintaining a composed and measured disposition most of the time.Appearance
Caspian is tall and lanky, with a slender build, and he stands at 5'11 in fairy inches. He has long, teal hair that's slicked back, and yellow eyes and light skin. Due to his age, he's got a fair few wrinkles and blemishes. His ears are webbed and his wings have cyan water patterns on them. Caspian is Japanese-coded and therefore has Asian features. His outfits are also inspired by traditional Japanese clothing, and he can often be seen in dark blues and teals. He dresses formally often, never showing too much skin.Reign
Caspian is a fairly relaxed ruler, but he isn't afraid to lay down the law when he has to. He's pretty reserved, so he does not usually make attempts to socialize with the subjects. But he does his best to hear out their concerns and take them into account when making policies. Usually, Umiko does the talking, and he does the law making.Trivia
- Caspian was very opposed to Umiko getting a pet seal, but when they got it, he grew on him. The two are now pretty inseparable as is often the case with dads.
- Caspian is probably better to this seal than he was his own kid. Oops.
- They have a koi fish pond outside the palace which he enjoys sitting beside when he needs a break.
