Alusair Obarskyr
Alusair Nacacia Obarskyr, the Steel Queen, was the empress of Cormyr, and the youngest child of Emperor Azoun Obarskyr IV and Queen Filfaeril. She reigned from 1382 DR until 1397 DR, and came to power following a long, bloody, civil war that destroyed much of the country's industrial power at the time.
The major concerns of her reign were rebuilding Cormyr and reclaiming the realm's status as the leading power in the region, which had lost ground primarily to Sembia in the east and the City of Shade in the north. She tried to keep Cormyr fully independent, by fighting attempts to influence her country's policy and economy made by agents of its neighbors, primarily Sembia and the remnents of Westgate.
She championed a number of reforms to the country, taking advantage of the weakened state of the nobility to begin curtailing their privilages and opening up a new national guild, which she called the Adventurer's Guild. This guild was to assist with maintaining public order and patroling the borders of the empire for monsters, and facilitate contracts between those registered and the public. It was an expansion to the already existing policies requiring adventurer's to register with the country in order to operate and carry weaponry within the borders.
The Steel Queen, as a follower of Torm, was known to consider several Torm-worshiping battlepriests close friends.
