Prasus Empire

Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken

Spanning from the River Dessarin and River Surbin to the jungle of Anauroch, encompassing much of what used to be the Silver Marches and High Forest, the Prasus Empire rose up to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves during and after The Calamity. Under the hand of Emperor Prasus the Empire flourishes with the many laws that its citizens abide to keep them safe. Its main city is Evertar which houses some of the finest craftsman in the world and smaller cities and villages dot the spanning empire. Tensions mount currently as Sembian Kingdom to its south abut its borders and its alliance is currently shakey but is held in place by their mutual relations with the Sanctum Conclave. It's capital, Evertar, is pressed tightly at the edge of the mountain range known as The Spine of the World with the great Primordial Titan, Algannam, looming over the city slumbering in place half reaching out from its mountain prison. Within this city resides the Emperor Prasus who sits on the Gauntlet Seat overseeing the prosperity of the Empire with the Ringed Council as his advisers.

History

The Prasus Empire sprung up after the Calamity under the guiding eye of a man going by the name Prasus Vareetus along with his trusted generals Galdur and Sherrah. Information regarding how they came about, where they were originally from, or how they gained the following they did has long since been lost to general knowledge, but what is known is that they quickly became a force to be reckoned against as they fought against The New Dawn and their raised Titans. Due to the surprise of The Calamity many governments crumbled while trying to combat the threat to world pushing many people to fall under Vareetus and his followers as they were one of the few standing organizations.   After a time, the Titans had returned to their slumber and the forces that had assembled under Vareetus began leading a campaign to collect the various cities that were left in the former Sword Coast interior lowlands under its hold. The few settlements that had been holding out eventually fell and all has settled into what is now the Prasus Empire. Whether hubris or to keep an eye on it, the new Emperor settled the largest grouping of forces under the now still body of Algannam the Earth Titan and naming the new capital Evertar. Within Evertar, Vareetus established himself as Emperor and his council became called the Ringed Council, who served to advise, guide, and administer new edicts.   Afterwards, as the years passed, every emperor after took the same name, Emperor Prasus Vareetus. Along with that every new member of the Ringed Council, as they were appointed, renamed themselves to that of the original members. This has garnered the nickname The Eternal Emperor and Immutable Council among the Evertar populace.

Territories

The Empire is a hilly region dotted with sweeping forests and bordered on most sides by winding rivers or peaked mountain ranges. Having a few towns and villages that nestle between these features, long roads have become common place connecting them all.

Religion

Within the Empire there a only a few allowed religions. When it was founded the Emperor laid claim that the new Empire was abandoned by many of the churches and its forces in favor of those organizations trying to save themselves instead of the people that needed help. As such many were outlawed in worship leaving only a few gods and goddess allowed by the populace.   Every temple in the Empire is government-owned and government-run. Worship of unapproved deities results in imprisonment, on charges of "idol worship".   Approved deities within the Empire are:
  • Silvanus: The Oak Father
  • Helm: The Watcher
  • Pelor: The Dawnfather
  • The Raven Queen
  • Ioun: Keeper of Knowledge
  • Gond: The Forgemaster
