Celestial Patrons in Faerûn | World Anvil

Celestial Patrons

Your patron is a powerful being of the Upper Planes. Your pact with that being allows you to experience the barest touch of the holy light that illuminates the multiverse.   Solars are the most powerful of all angels. Second only to the gods themselves, even fiend lords fear these paragons of righteous might. Often, a solar will serve as the direct hand of a deity when divine intervention is required. It is said that only twenty-four solars exist, and only four are known to be in the service of good deities: Felarathael and Lashrael, in service to Corellon Larethian, Gabriel in service to Bahamut, and Viryn, in service to Tyr.   Ki-rin are noble celestial creatures that serve the forces of good and will always oppose the forces of evil. Unlike many other celestials, ki-rin will often take a direct role in the battle against evil. While many ki-rin act on their own, others serve deities in the material plane. Ki-rin on the material plane will claim a territory to watch over, often granting gifts to those within. Aside from warlocks, many monks pledge themselves to ki-rin, as the creatures are noted for their wisdom.   Empyreans are the immortal children of the gods. Un-aging beings of immense power, they are universally beautiful, statuesque, and self-assured. Their divine powers are strong enough to have direct, immediate impacts on the world around them - when they're sad, it rains, and when they're happy, flowers bloom. As titans of such immense power, they are loathe to back down from any fight.   Planetars represent the weapons of the gods, the backbone of celestial armies. These angels act as the generals of celestial armies, but they are also known as defenders of truth and avengers of the righteous. Their senses are so acute, they can instantly detect any lie. They also have the power to dispense divine boons and banes, such as rain for a harvest or a swarm of insects to eat crops.   Devas are the messengers and agents of the gods. They are often sent to various planes, such as the material plane, Feywild, and Shadowfell in disguise to perform their divine duties. While a deva can take any shape, they prefer to appear to mortals as innocuous humanoids, secretly dispensing divine gifts to those in most need.   While not the most powerful of the celestials, unicorns are nonetheless capable of granting warlock pacts. Many are in service of the goddess Mielikki, but others can be found with any deity that can claim to preside over nature, and sometimes even Archfey. In Faerûn , most can be found in the High Forest, where there are an estimated 100+ as of the late 15th century DR. Unicorns often guard places or artifacts of importance, only letting good creatures through, providing them aid along the way.
