Orisima

A large seaside city located in the region of the Abakan Jungles. Orisima is the largest city in Soliemia and the capital of the Republic of Orisima. The city is also the home of the Dragon Lord Nerósa, The Voice of the Sea, who resides in a great underground lake beneath the city.

Government: 

Orisima and each city under the Sea Lords of Orisima are governed from the Senate located in Orisima. The Senate is composed of twenty four elected representatives, three from each of the four main districts of Orisima and three from Makwai, Niapéla, Yanéga and Zibonu. The Dragon Lord Nerósa is also sometimes consulted on important matters and can overrule any decision made by the senate but rarely does so.

Defence: 

The city is defended by a garrison of the Tidewatch, the local guard of the Republic of Orisima, and a sizable fleet of ships. Orisima is also sometimes defended by the brood of Nerósa in times of crisis.

Commerce: 

Orisima is famed for its marble that it harvests from the nearby Stormspoint mountains. The city also has a small trade of fish and farming infrastructure, harvesting fruits and nuts from the nearby jungle. Orisima is a major port for intercontinental trade, with almost any service or product imaginable found with its walls.

Geography: 

Orisima is located in the shadow of the Stormpeak Mountains and on the top of a white stone cliface overlooking the sea, known as the White Cliffs of Orisima. The city extends from the top of the cliface down to the seaside below in a sort of L shape. Orisima is a walled city, with a short white stone wall surrounding its upper levels. The buildings within the city are almost exclusively made from white stone or marble, it is also filled with beautiful plazas, statues and clock towers. Orisima is split into five main districts, with only four of those districts inhabited by the population. The district are split by their level, with Senate Hill located above the rest of the city, with Nakia Square located on the level of the cliface, the Winding Road located on the cliface itself, Ayaba Harbour located at sea level and Lake Nerósa which is located underground, within the mountain.

Senate Hill: 

The smallest district in Orisima, located above the rest of the city. Senate Hill is the location of the Senate of Orisima as well as many important buildings and temples.

Nakia Square: 

The largest district in Orisima, located above the White Cliffs of Orisima. Nakia Square acts as the entrance of the city filled with markets, shops, taverns and inns, it is also the location of most of the city's civilian housing.

The Winding Road: 

The central district of Orisima is built on the face of the White Cliffs of Orisima, with a winding road connecting Nakia Square to Ayaba Harbour. The Winding Road is built like steps, slowly descending down like one winding street. This part of the city contains a few shops, taverns and inns, as well as some civilian housing. It is generally the cheapest part of the city due to the constant traffic that passes through it.

Ayaba Harbour: 

The lowest district in Orisima, located at sea level, beneath the White Cliffs of Orisima. Ayaba Harbour is the location of Orisima’s massive harbour and sea port, filled with fishing vessels and trade ships. Ayaba Harbour also has many taverns and inns as well as fish markets and shops.

Lake Nerósa: 

Located deep beneath the mountain lies a vast underground lake only accessible by hidden tunnels and caverns along the cliface. It is the home of the Dragon Lord Nerósa and her brood and is off limits to the civilian population of Orisima, with many not even knowing of its existence. The lake is notable for the large crystal structures located within that bathe the lake is a soft light. The lake is connected to the sea, allowing the dragons to easily traverse between the lake and the sea.
