Birka
Birka is the main trade port between the lands of Exills and the rest of the world on the other side of the rift.
The main port and trade market is situated in a large bay with high cliffs surrounding it. On top of the cliffs are the more permanent Wolf Clan settlement and defenses. There are also Airship birthing docks on the cliff top, though these are only for Clan use. With Clan Wolf ship on the right side cliff face and other Clan ships on the left. For the extra fee, some other Airships are allowed to birth on the left.
Demographics
Mostly Clan Human amongst the permanent population. There is a Rift City enclave plus quite a few Fae sea pirate residents leftover from when it was a pirate port. The trade season brings in quite a few sea ships from around the area.
Government
Clan Council made up of ship Captains, over seen by a Wolf Clan Jarl.
Defences
Fortifications and siege weapons at the top of the cliffs plus a large fleet of Wolf Clan warships both sea and air.
This includes a large stone Fort at the head of the cove built long before the pirates and Clan's came to the Islands.
Industry & Trade
Thriving free market that trades in anything.

Guilds and Factions
A Rift City Trade Guild has a permanent set up under the old fort.
History
Originally a pirate port where anything could be bought and sold. It's the ruling council of ship captains. That was slowly taken over by the Wolf Clan Captains. After they gained control of the Council they invited the Wolf clan in to take over control on the condition that the Free market was allowed to stay open to everyone.
Any ship can put into port to sell its cargo without the threat of attack or reprisals. Any ship firing on another ship within 20 miles of the port or over Clan Wolf land will be attacked by the Wolf Clan and taken as a prize.
Architecture
There is a mix of architecture. The large fort/castle was built by a lost civilization but has had its top levels refitted for the Clan weapons. The lower city around the bay is a big mix of architecture reflecting the different groups and lack of athoraty during the early development. The upper city is more organised. The left of the cliff is where the original permanent pirate residents built their homes. By refurbishing and rebuilding that belong to the lost civilisation. The right side between the old buildings and the fort is now home to Clan Wolf's permanent homes.
