Mercenary camp
About the Camp
The Mercenary camp was set up by the group of mercenaries, whom the Mayor of Qarton hired to stop the villagers of Qarton from mysteriously disappearing. However, seeing an opportunity for profit, the group of mercenaries decided to blackmail and extort the village instead of helping with the problem. The Camp is a simple but effective set up, with a high palisade surrounding the central area. The sole entrance is a long open passageway, laden with traps and an illusory magic boulder to deter the entry of those not part of the Mercenaries' retinue. In Our Story
In our tale, Jackob Aar, Knor Ti Knockarz, Larry Tinkle, Terry Tinkle and Vyth Aar headed to the camp at the behest of Old Mae and Willow, with the promise of payment from the Mayor. Some members of the village believed that the mercenaries might be responsible for the villagers' disappearances but either way all agreed that the group were abusing their power over the village. The bonk squad headed to serve out some justice and to find out what the mercenaries knew about the mysterious disappearances of the villagers. Finding many of the mercenaries to be away gathering supplies and the camp guarded by a few thugs and the mercenaries' mage, Verres, the bonk squad decided instead to throw flaming torches into the camp to set it ablaze. However, after a long argument with Verres over his concave rear end, the group spotted several people in cages within the camp. Rushing forward and after springing the traps and a good fight, Verres and his ruffians were defeated. Locked inside the cages were Helen Highwater, the sheriff of Qarton and her deputy, who revealed that the mercenaries had kidnapped them when they started challenging their treatment of the locals, pretending that Helen and her deputy had mysteriously disappeared as well. Helen warned that Brutus, the vicious leader of the mercenary gang, would soon return from gathering supplies and would seek revenge on the village for his men's death. The bonk squad returned to town to prepare for Brutus' vengeance.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
