Trigad Hold
Trigad Hold is the primary seat of power of Clan Trigad, and the westernmost port in Alliance territory. It is one of the wealthiest Dwarven cities thanks to the trading ships from Ter Eira and Lancaster docking here and paying exuberant port fees. It is not built against or inside of a mountain like the other clan strongholds, instead Trigad relies on building sturdy buildings and maintaining a powerful force of guardsmen. The port is sprawling and enormous, each dock crafted of coral and brass and stone, and it is guarded by watchtowers built at intervals throughout the water across the dockyards. These towers are manned with archers and ballistae, and can raise a network of steel chains that would trap ships in the harbor and prevent new ones from coming in. The roads throughout the city are made of basalt cobbles, and most buildings were painstakingly carved from imported granite and capped with black-painted iron. An enormous stone keep surrounded by iron-reinforced walls oversees the city, and it is large enough to house all the members of Clan Trigad in times of trouble. Only members of the clan may enter the castle. Guardhouses double as storerooms and are dispersed throughout the city in ever-shrinking rows, and are full of sheets of wood and metal that can be thrown between the close-packed buildings to create instant barricades. Aside from trade, the city also sits near the Bvalstan Quarry, the single largest granite deposit in the world. Titanic pens for livestock are also carefully arranged within each defense-tier to feed the population in the event of siege, these holding primarily hardy small cattle that will eat just about anything. Next to the harbor on either side, woven pens keep populations of saltwater catfish for harvesting as well as oyster farms and crabber's dockyards. A single shipyard slowly churns out fishing vessels with lumber imported from Ter Eira. Every set of ten buildings is assigned to a limestone bunker that is used to compost waste and grow the giant meatshrooms that have been imported from The Darkwood. Large, flat buildings with raised edges hold soil and this compost, and that is where the city's farmers work as local soil is too rocky for good crops. No space goes to waste in Trigad Hold.
