Sand Glider

A sand glider is a sort of speeder operated by manipulating expansive wing-like windsails or microimpact fields. By harnessing the power of sandstorms, these ships glide over sand at the speed of galloping horse at it's best. They come in a variety of sizes, the largest of which are usually used in conjunction with an elemental battery.

Propulsion

Wind or microimpact. Larger models make use of an elemental battery.

Weapons & Armament

Smaller sand gliders utilize sword-like bulkheads designed for ramming. The largest are outfitted with ballistae or the occasional arcane cannon.

Armor and defense

Sand gliders, as most sandships, are finished with an alchemical paint called Beetle's Coat to prevent damage from constant exposure to sandstorms. This has the effect of reinforcing the light wooden structures similar to an insect's exoskeleton. Cargo bays are typically lined with iron plating. The largest of sand gliders occasionally will utilize a full falseiron frame, but this is extraordinarily expensive and requires extra sails to propel the craft.
