Microimpact Fields
A Microimpact field is a modified sail designed to be propelled by the rapid and intense impact of thousands of small particles, such as sand or hail. Microimpact fields are made of toughened, but thin, sheets of leather, often sharkskin. The side effect of such ability is often significantly less effective wind propulsion, though very expensive microimpact fields capable of harnessing wind normally do exist.
